Jack Lawton Sr.

It was Jack, Sr’s father, Pally that began turning the Lawton Ranch into a full scale cattle and horse operation. Together with his brother, Bill Lawton, Jack took what his father had begun and built upon it because he shared the same vision. When Bill retired from the ranch, it was Jack, Sr. that transformed the ranch into what it has become. He advanced the horse program to a new and competitive level in today’s market.

Jack’s passion for horses has never diminished. Even now, as he has handed the reins over to the next generation, he still makes daily rides around the ranch looking and watching over this dream. He is a cowboy in every sense of the word. He was always the first one to mend the fences or work cows, never leaving to someone else what he could do himself. He ran the Lawton Ranch as he lives his life, proudly. Jack and Coonie have been happily married since 1948.
